Mansimar Kaur

Mansimar Kaur is a student researcher, writer, and grassroots organiser committed to equity-driven development and cultural justice. With experience across journalism, research, and social impact initiatives, she founded Project Qala to address the invisible gap between traditional artisanship and digital opportunity.
Under her leadership, Project Qala emerged as a nationally award-winning initiative, combining field-based work with critical engagement around gender, labour, and representation. Mansimar’s work is shaped by a belief that storytelling, when done ethically, can be a tool of both preservation and power.
She has worked as a Student Journalist at Via News Didi and authored a research paper on Glass Ceilings and Sticky Floors for BehanBox. Mansimar is culturally focused and raised over 45+ lakh worth of donations through her donation drives for the Punjab Floods.
Storytelling, when done ethically, can be a tool of both preservation and power.
